A summer school on data science and its applications in industry and financial technologies was held at Allameh Tabataba’i University.
Data science, artificial intelligence, and financial technology (FinTech) have played an essential role in advancing modern economies, society, technology, and many other fields. Smart FinTech is the new generation of FinTech, which is mainly inspired and empowered by financial mathematics, data science, and next-generation artificial intelligence (DSAI) techniques. Smart FinTech integrates and transforms the economic and financial sectors to drive intelligent, automated, whole businesses and personalized businesses, services, and economic and financial systems. In 2021, the volume of collected data increased by 37% compared to 2020 and reached 74 trillion gigabytes. The numbers are pretty impressive.
Based on this, the scientific pole of financial mathematics, in cooperation with the Faculty of Statistics, Mathematics and Computer Science of Allameh Tabataba'i University and the UiTM University of Malaysia, has organized a summer school consisting of ten sessions in which professors of data science, machine learning and financial mathematics from abroad and inside the country have presented their materials, in this summer school to those who are interested in theoretical and practical materials and how to use data science, machine learning and financial mathematics in economic advancement and launching fintech (fintech start-up technology), which is the important slogan of the year by The position of Supreme Leader is presented.
The audience of this summer school were university professors and students of financial mathematics, data science, and artificial intelligence, as well as managers, experts, and activists of the stock exchange, bank, and insurance were present in this summer school.
The most important thing taught to those who are interested in this summer school is the theoretical issues related to data science, machine learning, and financial mathematics, as well as how to use this great knowledge to promote and create a dynamic economy inside the country using global experiences and the existing national situation.

Research Vice President of Allameh Tabataba'i University stated: One of the harms of our educational system is the lack of attention to the practical knowledge, or in other words, the non-optimal application of social sciences. Therefore, learning practical knowledge is crucial and artificial intelligence can help with this. He called the lack of attention to skill training and skill enhancement another problem of the educational system and said: these meetings and courses can increase the skills training and skill enhancement of academics, especially in related fields, in parallel with the official educational programs. To solve the problems of society and people, we need to produce problem-solving science. Dr. Dehghani Firouzabadi stated: One of the aims of science is to create all-round development, economic and human development, which is expected from all sciences.
